JBS Releases “Smart Start for Microsoft Azure Security” Service

Japan Business Systems, Inc. (Headquarters: Minato Ward, Tokyo; President: Yukihiro Makita; hereinafter, “JBS” securities code: 5036) released “Smart Start for Microsoft Azure Security,” a service to realize implementation and in-house operation of a security solution that detects threats and prevents them for IDs, cloud infrastructure, and resources that exist in the Microsoft Azure (hereinafter, “Azure”) environment in as little as three weeks.

This service is based on “best practices” (recommended configurations) drawn from JBS’s Azure implementation/operation track record and implements security measures with a design optimized for each customer’s environment. After the customer fills out an interview sheet, the solution is then developed in as as three weeks and can be operated independently after implementation in accordance with the operation manual.

There are many customers who are concerned that they do not have expert security-related knowledge or think that it would be too hard to operate things on their own even with a manual for guidance. However, JBS’s operation manual covers every aspect from basic operation to tuning, and even provides examples of how to handle security incidents when they occur. It has been well-received even among the various Smart Start series services released up until now with customers who conduct in-house operation.

As cyberattacks become increasingly sophisticated, it is becoming more difficult for companies to implement security measures on their own as cloud systems become more widespread. While users gain an environment in which they can work anywhere, there have also been opinions from administrators who are concerned about accumulating issues, such as realizing zero trust and improving the security of the cloud system itself, and who have told us “we don’t know where to start with measures,” “we don’t know how much the measures will cost,” and “we are worried if we can operate them even if measures are implemented.”

In light of such circumstances, JBS released Smart Start for Microsoft 365 E5 Security which implements functions to block cyberattacks and protect Microsoft 365 IDs, devices, and applications in a short timeframe. It was released in January 2021 and has been well-received by many customers. Furthermore, there are many companies that are concerned with security in systems that have shifted from Microsoft 365 to Azure. Given that swift response to such concerns is demanded, JBS decided to release a standardized service in which best practices can be incorporated.
