Visualize the Current State of Your Microsoft 365 Tenant and Clarify Next Steps
Tenant Isolation Support for Microsoft 365
For customers considering the isolation of their Microsoft 365 tenant due to business decisions such as M&As or corporate spin-offs, or as part of a review of governance and AI access scopes, JBS’s expert engineers provide rapid support from assessing the current environment to proposing the optimal isolation approach and licensing plan.
Service Overview
This is a support service for customers considering the isolation of their Microsoft 365 tenant. It helps organize and visualize the current state of tightly coupled IDs, data, permissions, licenses, and operations within the tenant, clarifying the optimal path forward. Through an initial assessment and licensing plan design, JBS identifies the current configuration, operations, dependencies, and issues, providing the information needed to make informed decisions about the tenant isolation.
- Visualization of the Current Stat
-
-
- Organizes and visualizes the overall picture, including the scope (IDs, data, permissions, and licenses), dependencies, and actual operational practices.
- Based on the overall picture, identifies the key areas that need to be reviewed in preparation for tenant isolation.
- Organization of Options
-
-
- Compares the approaches (method, phasing, scope, and organizational structure), narrowing down the options based on the expected timeline, impact, and cost.
- Designs the appropriate SKUs and costs for the destination tenant, summarizes the comparison results and recommended approach, and provides a clear basis for deciding on the next steps.
- Decision-Making Support
-
-
- Organizes the challenges, constraints, and risks associated with tenant isolation within a structured framework, and shares key decision points and considerations through workshops. る
- Helps establish a clear basis for decision-making on the next steps, minimizing the risk of rework.
Service Benefits
- Minimize Rework Risks
-
By identifying the key areas that need to be reviewed for tenant isolation based on the overall picture, you can reduce the risk of rework before starting the design phase.
- Enable Confident Decision-Making Through Workshops
-
Through workshops, we organize the challenges, constraints, and risks associated with tenant isolation. By comparing different approaches (method, phasing, scope, and organizational structure) and exploring questions and uncertainties in depth, you can build a shared understanding and make well-informed decisions with confidence.
- Accelerate Decision-Making
-
From organizing the current configuration, operations, dependencies, and issues through to comparing isolation approaches and designing the licensing plan, we consolidate the assessment within four to eight weeks. By establishing the information needed to make decisions before launching the project, we help keep the evaluation moving forward and enable a smooth transition to the next step.

Q&A
- Can we use this service even if we don’t have someone who is familiar with our Microsoft 365 environment?
- Yes, you can. Having someone familiar with your Microsoft 365 environment can help make the information-gathering process smoother, but it is not required. We will assess the current environment through interviews and on-site investigations, so the service can still be used even if you do not have a clear picture of the overall environment.
- Can we also request design, implementation, and migration services after the assessment?
- Currently, we provide assessment and licensing plan design services. Design, implementation, and migration services can be discussed separately based on the assessment results.
- What happens if multiple tenants or business entities are involved?
- The standard service covers up to one source tenant and one destination tenant. If multiple tenants or business entities are involved, we will provide a separate quotation based on the scope of the engagement.
- What materials should we prepare in advance?
- You can provide any materials currently available, such as Microsoft 365 tenant configuration information, a list of licenses in use, organizational charts, and operational procedures. You do not need to prepare everything in advance. If any information is needed, we will supplement it through interviews and on-site investigations.
- Can we move directly into the tenant isolation project after the assessment?
- Yes. The assessment report includes a recommended roadmap, enabling a smooth transition to the next phase of design, implementation, and migration. Ongoing support is also available.
- Can you also provide an estimated cost for the tenant isolation and migration?
- The assessment report includes estimated costs and timelines for each isolation scenario. While the formal quotation will be finalized during the design phase, these estimates can be used as a reference for budgeting.
- Can you also support tenant consolidation?
- Yes. We offer tenant consolidation as a customized SI service, for which we can provide support.
- The Microsoft 365 licensing structure is complex. Can you help us select and estimate the licensing program we should use after tenant isolation?
- Yes. The service includes selecting the appropriate licensing program and conducting cost simulations. JBS can also support you during the design phase by preparing an actual quotation and providing licensing Q&A support.
