Visualize the Current State of Your Authentication Infrastructure and Clarify Next Steps
Cloud ID Platform Optimization Support Service
For customers who are considering a review of their Microsoft Active Directory environment or looking to optimize their authentication infrastructure with Microsoft Entra ID as the core platform, but are unsure where to start, JBS’s expert engineers assess the current authentication environment and support you in making informed decisions.
Service Overview
The Cloud ID Platform Optimization Support Service is a support service for customers currently using Active Directory (hereinafter, “AD”) and Microsoft Entra ID (hereinafter, “Entra ID”), as well as those considering an Entra ID-centric architecture. The service helps organize and visualize the current authentication infrastructure and clarify the optimal path forward. Through an initial assessment, JBS identifies the current configuration, operations, dependencies, and issues, providing the information needed to make informed decisions about future migration or review.
Three Pillars of Assessment
- Visualization of the Current State
-
-
- Organizes and visualizes the overall picture, including the scope, dependencies, and actual operational practices.
- Based on the overall picture, identifies the key areas that need to be reviewed in preparation for a full migration to Entra ID.
- Organization of Options
-
- Compares the approaches (method, phasing, scope, and organizational structure), narrowing down the options based on the expected timeline, impact, and cost.
- Summarizes the comparison results and recommended approach, and provides a clear basis for deciding the next steps.
- Decision-Making Support
-
- Organizes the challenges, constraints, and risks within a structured framework, and shares key decision points and considerations through workshops.
- Helps establish a clear basis for your decision-making, minimizing the risk of rework.
Service Benefits
- Visualize the Current Authentication Infrastructure
-
We organize the scope, dependencies, and actual operational practices to provide a clear view of the current authentication infrastructure. Based on this overall picture, we identify the key areas that need to be reviewed to achieve a full migration to Microsoft Entra ID.
- Clarify Decision Criteria Through Workshops
-
Through workshops, we organize challenges, constraints, and risks and clarify the key decision criteria for reviewing the authentication infrastructure. By comparing different approaches (method, phasing, scope, and organizational structure) and sharing the rationale behind each option, we support informed and confident decision-making.
- Quickly Establish the Information Needed for Decision-Making
-
We organize the current configuration, operations, dependencies, and issues, and quickly consolidate the information needed for decision-making. Within four to eight weeks, we assess the current environment and organize the available options, enabling you to move forward to the next step without delays in the decision-making process.

Service Flow
Workshop Topics
- Review the current configuration and operational situation
- Identify areas that are dependent on AD and areas where Entra ID can be leveraged
- Organize areas for review, challenges, constraints, and risks
- Compare and evaluate options for the future approach (method, phasing, scope, and organizational structure)
- Confirm the recommended approach and direction for the next steps.
Q&A
- Can we use this service even if we don’t have someone who is familiar with AD?
- Yes, you can. Having someone familiar with AD can help make the information-gathering process smoother, but it is not required. We will assess the current environment through interviews and on-site investigations, so the service can still be used even if you do not have a clear picture of the overall environment.
- Can we also request migration services after the assessment?
- Currently, we provide assessment services only. Design, implementation, and migration services can be discussed separately based on the assessment results.
- What happens if multiple domains are involved?
- The standard service covers up to one domain within one forest. If multiple domains are involved, we provide a separate quotation based on the scope of the engagement.
- What materials should we prepare in advance?
- You can provide any materials currently available, such as AD architecture diagrams, network diagrams, and operational procedures. You do not need to prepare everything in advance. If any information is needed, we will supplement it through interviews and on-site investigations.
- Can we move directly into a migration project after the assessment?
- Yes. The assessment report includes a recommended roadmap, enabling a smooth transition to the next phase of design, implementation, and migration. Ongoing support is also available.
- Can you also provide an estimated cost for the migration?
- The assessment report includes estimated costs and timelines for each migration scenario. While the formal quotation will be finalized during the design phase, these estimates can be used as a reference for budgeting.
