Service Overview

This service partially migrates data from an on-premises database management system (DBMS) to a PoC environment. JBS builds the PoC environment and carries out partial data migration for validation purposes. It should be noted that post-migration performance verification is to be conducted by the customer.

What Is Oracle Database@Azure?

Oracle Database@Azure is an automated database service that enables you to use Oracle databases deployed within Microsoft Azure (hereafter referred to as “Azure”) data centers.

Low-latency connectivity from the Azure side enables end-to-end latency optimization.

Service Details

We deploy and perform the initial setup of Oracle Database@Azure, and migrate a portion of the data from the existing environment for validation purposes.
The configuration overview and migration approach using Oracle Zero Downtime Migration (ZDM) are as follows.

Migration Procedure

Download ZDM.
Configure Oracle GoldenGate Extract.
Start the export job.
Start the import job.
Configure Oracle GoldenGate Replication.
Perform ZDM switchover.
Complete ZDM processing.

This configuration is based on Oracle Database@Azure (Exadata).

What Oracle database versions are supported on Oracle Database@Azure?: Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) supports Oracle Database versions 19c and later, which are also supported on Oracle Database@Azure (as of November 2025).
How can latency between the application layer and the database layer be reduced?: Deploy them within the same region and in peered virtual networks across availability zones to minimize latency.
