JBS Supports Security Measures Enhancement for Mobile Devices
Takes on Complicated Tasks for Vulnerability Management and Operation Management on Your Behalf
2024.06.10
PressreleaseJapan Business Systems, Inc. (Headquarters: Minato Ward, Tokyo; President: Yukihiro Makita; hereinafter, “JBS” securities code: 5036) released the new operation support service Managed Endpoint with Microsoft Enterprise Mobility + Security. This service is for companies that have implemented Microsoft Enterprise Mobility + Security (hereinafter, “EMS”) to enhance security measures for devices and it mainly supports the operation of Microsoft Intune (hereinafter, “Intune”), which conducts central management of mobile devices in a cloud environment. As many companies want to conduct security measures for devices but are concerned about securing operational resources and systems, JBS, which has supported the implementation of EMS and Intune, will use its experience to support them.
With the recent diversification of work styles, the types of devices being used for work have increased significantly, from high spec PCs to laptop computers, smartphones, and tablets used in and outside the home. While the workload to manage devices is increasing in accordance with this development, security incidents targeting insufficiently managed devices are occurring continuously. For example, there are many cases of information leakage occurring due to unauthorized access that targets vulnerabilities, which can lead to work being interrupted for several days.
JBS Organizes and Provides the Vast Amount of Difficult Update Information in Easy-to-Understand Format
By using EMS and Intune appropriately, the security risks for the numerous devices existing in and outside the company via cloud can be reduced. The license for Intune is included in Microsoft 365 E3/E5 and EMS E3/5 and can be used by many corporate users at no additional cost, but many customers experience difficulty in securing the operational conditions to use Intune. In particular, it is difficult to understand whether the company environment requires all the frequently provided information on vulnerabilities and updates, and what to do to be sufficiently prepared. Rather than having to request the services of expert security personnel, JBS supports you in keeping costs and operational burden down, and works to make your device security measures stronger using EMS and Intune, for already-implemented EMS and Intune, or if you are planning to implement them going forward.
In this service, JBS operates the following five steps on your behalf for vulnerability management of internal systems.
- Detect the occurrence of vulnerabilities using Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (hereinafter, “MDE”)
- Propose corrections for detected vulnerabilities
- Compile a response plan if it is determined that resolution is necessary
- Change settings for applications, OS updates, and security policies
- Report implementation results for work to resolve vulnerabilities
This service deciphers EMS update information and provides them in an organized and easy to check report. We propose recommended actions for items that are determined could have an impact on operations. You can then consider the steps to take based on the proposed contents. Update information is obtained monthly and provided as a report within 10 business days.
We Also do Time-consuming and Complex Setting Changes For You
Even if you realize the vulnerabilities and updates that need to be addressed, addressing them takes time and effort. Additionally, the work to install applications and change settings may require specialized knowledge. This service makes it possible to have JBS do the work on behalf of customers who find it difficult to have an operational structure permanently in place for this purpose.
Additionally, in this service, we respond to a wide range of customer inquiries such as questions and consultations about problems that occur during operation including how to use "Intune" and "Autopilot," which automatically updates software. For example, we respond immediately to inquiries about errors with unidentified causes such as “I don’t know why I was blocked from signing in,” “I can’t enable BitLocker which is under the control of Intune,” or “I always fail at installing applications,” reducing the time it takes for you to investigate.
Completely changing how you operate device security is a huge challenge for customers, but a great opportunity is approaching: support for Windows 10 is due to end in October 2025. JBS considers now, when companies are starting to overhaul device infrastructure including transitioning to Windows 11, to be the perfect opportunity to consider implementing EMS and Intune. This service strengthens security measures for mobile devices and cloud environments using EMS and Intune through a series of support measures.
