JBS Implements RAG Service for AI Chat to Generate Responses Unique to a Company in as Little as One Day

(Headquarters: Minato Ward, Tokyo; President: Yukihiro Makita; hereinafter, “JBS;” securities code: 5036) has commenced the provision of AIplicity Concierge Powered by ChatGPT API (hereinafter, “AIplicity Concierge”), a RAG service* that references data and then generates responses unique to a particular company.
- RAG : an abbreviation of “retrieval-augmented generation.” A technique with the excellent ability to retrieve information and generate responses. It not only summarizes the content of learned data like conventional generative AI but can also generate responses referring to diverse data. This leads to the realization of more accurate and immediate information provision.
Because general-purpose generative AI creates responses from learned data, it is difficult to obtain responses from data unique to a company that is not included in the data learned. However, including internal data in the retrieval target using RAG generates responses that are unique to the company. From the time when ChatGPT initially started attracting attention, people were calling for a system to obtain responses based on internal data, and the method using RAG is widely known as the solution. However, because the realization of RAG requires expert knowledge of the mechanism of search engines and data processing in addition to knowledge on large language models (LLM) and prompts, there are issues such as securing engineers and individual development costs, and there have been many cases which have failed to lead through to implementation due to this. JBS has focused on this challenge and implement RAG in as little as one day, developing an environment in which an AI chatbot can generate responses based on internal data. With an endless number of users spending time and effort searching for documents and knowledge within the company, JBS helps users utilize internal information and smoothly execute work as a dedicated concierge for each and every user.
This service is an option for the AIplicity Chat Powered by ChatGPT API (hereinafter, “AIplicity Chat”) service released by JBS in April 2023 that allows users to use AI chat safely and securely while avoiding confidential information leakage risks. This service enables prompt input to response generation via the browser-based AIplicity Chat .

What Is AIplicity Concierge?
AIplicity Concierge is a service that makes even internal information searchable as an extension of AIplicity Chat, a service in which an AI chat app responds to user questions using Azure OpenAI Service. It enables responses to be generated from data unique to a company such as information used in internal rules and work systems, making it possible to obtain responses that are more accurate and relevant.
By simply deciding which document files you want to include in searches such as PDF, Word, PowerPoint, and text files saved on file servers and the intranet, and saving them in a designated folder, you will be able to obtain responses based on the saved document files when you ask a question on AIplicity Chat.
Safety of AIplicity Concierge
The folder where the document files are saved can be made to have a hierarchical structure, and by conducting appropriate access management, you can control the AI to so that responses can be prevented from being returned to users who do not have the authority to browse the document files. Additionally, as with AIplicity Chat, your data is saved within the Microsoft Azure tenant for which you have a contract. Because of this, user management can be conducted with the authentication/authorization function of Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Director). This enables you to use your company’s precious internal data safely.
