Pressrelease

Japan Business Systems, Inc. (Headquarters: Minato Ward, Tokyo; President: Yukihiro Makita; hereinafter, “JBS” securities code: 5036) announced the company-wide implementation of Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365 (hereinafter, “Copilot for Microsoft 365”), an AI assistant tool offered by Microsoft for corporations, and the first implementation for Japan’s IT services industry. Utilizing the data and knowledge gained from about 2,500 employees who regularly and comprehensively use Copilot for Microsoft 365 and reflecting this as a “real showcase” in our services, JBS will contribute to improving companies’ generative AI usage levels and promote digital transformation (DX).
The implementation has already started to demonstrate a certain level of impact, especially in the work of corporate departments, such as checking contracts and responses to internal inquiries. JBS is confident that it will lead to resolving issues faced by Japanese corporations in handling ever-increasing work and diversifying work styles against the backdrop of a shortage of human resources.

  • Efforts for Copilot for Microsoft 365 and its Outlook

JBS participated in the advance verification program for Copilot for Microsoft 365 held last year by Microsoft, aiming for AI usage for re-engineering JBS’s own business processes and harnessing that experience for services and support for customers. We have promptly compiled this knowledge into original services such as Copilot NAVI and Advisory Workshop for Microsoft Copilot.

These services are popular as implementation to early phase usage support for customers who want to implement Copilot for Microsoft 365 or have just implemented it but are not sure how to start using it. On the other hand, for true business process re-engineering, how Copilot for Microsoft 365 is used is essential, and more concrete support is needed in order to raise the level of generative AI usage.

Spreading the use of Copilot for Microsoft 365 companywide, gathering and analyzing the usage data, success stories, and feedback from about 2,500 employees, JBS aims to reflect the results into a usage service that solidly realizes customers’ business process re-engineering with Copilot for Microsoft 365.

We have received the following endorsement from Microsoft Japan regarding this release.

Microsoft Japan welcomes the first company-wide implementation of Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365 in Japan by JBS. Microsoft is investing in generative AI and officially released Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365 for corporations in November last year. Now that it is possible to use generative AI, which was previously seen as out of reach, it has become the subject of much expectation. On the other hand, in order to realize improved productivity using generative AI, a step to understand what generative AI is good at doing and transform how we work is necessary. However, there are few case studies demonstrating this and there have been many opinions raised that people do not know how to advance the use of generative AI. We think that JBS, a long-time partner of Microsoft and also a user skilled in the use of Microsoft 365, gathering usage examples of 2,500 people is extremely valuable. We hope to give added impetus to solving issues facing Japanese society with generative AI together with JBS, using JBS’s examples as a “real showcase.”
