JBS & Microsoft Support Onagawa Town Public Housing Construction Project with Microsoft Azure & Windows Tablets

AnnouncementJBS and Microsoft Japan today announced the adoption of Microsoft Azure, public cloud service of Microsoft, and Windows tablets for progress management system for construction which supports fund aid scheme using electronically recorded credit for Onagawa Town Public Housing Construction Project. This fund aid scheme was jointly announced in Dec. 2013 by the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd. (hereinafter BTMU) and Mitsubishi Research Institute (hereinafter MRI).
JBS took charge of implementing the system. Making use of 'Microsoft Project Siena' (Code name), application development tool, as well as 'Microsoft Visual Studio', integrated development environment, JBS was able to develop dedicated applications and web applications on Microsoft Azure within a month. The whole construction progress management system was complete three months after the project had begun.
Application Overview
Mr. Akira Enomoto, General Manager of Strategy Consulting Division, MRI, says,
"This system enabled us to check remotely the construction progress, which contributed to the reduction of the construction period for Public Housing Project. It saved both costs and workload. We really appreciate the software developmentby JBS to minimize the cost and lead time by combining Microsoft solutions. It's been almost four years since 3.11 Disaster. BTMU and MRI were able to confirm the effectiveness of the progress management system. By taking advantage of this easy-to-deploy solution built on the cloud, we are considering the expansion of the fund aid scheme to other disastrous areas."
JBS and Microsoft Japan will make continuous contributions to reconstruction of disaster area by providing the cloud service and Windows tablets which support fund aid scheme by BTMU & MRI.
