Overview
File Servers in hybrid cloud environment using Amazon Web Services (AWS)
ROKI TECHNO built file servers for domestic major locations on hybrid cloud using AWS Storage Gateway. They have migrated old file servers which ran on premise servers for Head office and Kyushu Plant to AWS. Currently migration for Hokuriku Plant is in preparation phase.
All data on file servers are stored and managed in Amazon S3 (Amazon Simple Storage Service). Frequently accessed data are synchronized on Storage gateway, a virtual appliance in internal on-premise environment. End users are able to utilize file servers on Storage Gateway without being aware of cloud service.
Storage Gateway has 1.2 TB storage in cache area. 3 TB storage area is kept on Amazon S3. Furthermore the data on Amazon S3 is mirrored on other two areas.
JBS in this project supported all phases from "requirements definition" to "design/migration/building," plus "monitoring/operation support."
