JBS Group and Pivotal Japan announce collaboration in data analysis platform field: JBS to provide Pivotal Greenplum sales, implementation, and maintenance operation services

Today, Japan Business Systems, Inc. (headquarters: Minato Ward, Tokyo; President: Yukihiro Makita; hereafter referred to as “JBS”), JBS Technology, Inc. (headquarters: Minato Ward, Tokyo; President: Ikutaro Nuki; hereafter referred to as “JBS Technology”), and Pivotal Japan, K.K. (headquarters: Minato Ward, Tokyo; Country Manager: Takumi Masai; hereafter referred to as “Pivotal”) agreed to a collaboration in the data analysis platform field. JBS will market Pivotal Greenplum, a parallel distributed processing, scale-out database offered by Pivotal, while JBS Technology will handle implementation and maintenance operation services.

Pivotal Greenplum is a data platform enabling massively parallel processing (MPP) through the open-source Greenplum Database. It aids organizations such as manufacturers, retailers, and research institutes to gain a competitive edge by providing comprehensive and integrated analytics on multi-structured data. As attention increasingly focuses on technologies such as IoT and AI, major changes are expected in data-driven businesses that rely on analysis and application of massive volumes of data in corporate strategy.
With this in mind, the JBS Group combines its Microsoft solutions expertise with Pivotal’s data analysis platform to offer this comprehensive service.

JBS currently offers cloud solutions centered on Microsoft Azure. Backed by this new collaboration, the company plans to work with Microsoft Japan and other partners to offer data analysis services via Microsoft Azure. Furthermore, JBS will offer data analysis solutions utilizing Pivotal Greenplum as part of our subscription-based solution, “the MATRIX for Microsoft Azure,*” facilitating clients’ digital transformation.

JBS Technology, a member of the JBS Group, offers design, implementation, and operations for new technologies such as IoT/big data (Hadoop), IaaS/PaaS, and SDx (Software-Defined Anything), and has now added implementation and maintenance operation services for Pivotal Greenplum in line with the new collaboration.

Collaboration in the data analysis platform field by the trio of companies will not only optimize existing tasks for client enterprises by enhancing productivity and operational efficiency, but should also increase client interactions with new customers through the acquisition and analysis of behavioral data and the identification of previously-unrecognized latent issues and customer needs, boosting client transformations into data-driven enterprises with top-line growth.
