Microsoft Office 365 x HDE One Case Study

Matsudo City Hospital (MCH) is a core hospital in the Northwest Area of Chiba Prefecture. It has a plan to move and build a new city hospital by Dec. 2017.

MCH did not have any official mail system installed in the past they except a few employees used their private mail addresses. But in order to improve the overall quality of the hospital the IT system environment is to be improved before the hospital move. That is why it was decided to install an official mail system for medical staff.

In 2015 MCH installed an offcial mail system for doctors and medical staff using Microsoft Office 365 Exchange Online. At the same time MCH installed HDE One to automate the encryption of sending files and the notification of decoded password.

Doctors deal with sensitive personal data of patients for treatment and research activities. It was required to encrypt sending files without imposing a burden on doctors. MCH decided to install auto-encryption feature to prevent information leakage and wrong transmission.

HDE One

JBS proposed HDE One for its auto encrytion feature for MCH to switch the mail systems and helped MCH with implementation. With HDE One it was the biggest advantage to enhance the security level of file transmission by mail without imposing a burden on doctors.
